Healthy food to accompany healthy contributions

We’re very proud to announce that the awesome Kauai will be sponsoring the food at Contributor Day for WordCamp Cape Town 2014! Not only will we be getting some exciting and healthy contributions done, but we will also be eating some exciting and healthy food along with it.

Kauai have recently launched a pretty exciting mobile app that allows you to track your purchases at the store and earn awesome loyalty points:

They also have some awesome summer specials on at the moment that look exceptionally tasty – if any of this gets your mouth watering then make sure you make it to Contributor Day:

Enriching your WordCamp experience with workshops

A huge amount of the feedback from last year’s WordCamp Cape Town was that weren’t enough technical talks. Despite the fact that we had what I think was a seriously impressive line-up of speakers, I tend to agree with the individuals who wanted more technical topics. With a community as diverse as ours is, however, we will always have difficulty pleasing everyone, but I think we’ve come up with a great way of catering for all tastes this year: Workshops. Become your own official photographer at WordCamp

We know how much you love to brag on Twitter and Instagram about the sweet time you’re having at WordCamp and how many awesome people you’re meeting at the event – we even have our official event hashtag to make everything easier to follow. Now, at WordCamp Cape Town 2014, you’ll not only be able to post photos online, but you’ll also be able to print them out on the day free of charge!

We’ve teamed up with local social printing service, Brandrocket, to bring you a custom photo booth where you can print your own photos quickly and easily.

How does it work?

It’s simple – all you do is upload a photo to Twitter or Instagram with the #wcct hashtag and your photo will be available on the Brandrocket photo booth touch screen for you to select and print immediately. You can be your own official photographer – print as many photos as you like and take them home with you the very same day!

Is it really that easy?

Yip – check out the video to see how it all works:

Help make WordCamp even better

At this year’s WordCamp, we are honoured to be joined by Bill Belew who will be speaking as well as running a workshop. You can find out a bit more about him in his speaker spotlight.

With someone of Bill’s pedigree, his talk on 5 Reasons Why a Social Media / Content Marketing Strategy will Beat Social Networking is sure to be a winner and one to remember. In an effort to make his talk even more relevant, Bill has put together a short (4 question) survey to find out some information on how you perceive content marketing and what you would like to get out of his talk. He has even given you a chance to have a chat with him directly about it all.

This survey is available for anyone who is attending WordCamp Cape Town 2014, so if you’ve bought your ticket then it will take just a minute of your time to help make the event even more relevant and awesome.
