I manage Web4Africa and blog regularly at www.davidajao.com/blog/

Why WordPress?

I use WordPress for my blogs and other websites because it is the best blogging platform and content management system.

What are your thoughts on the WordPress community as a whole? And the South African WP community?

The selfless and hard-working WordPress community is the power behind WordPress. The community is solid proof to how far free/open-source software can take humankind. It is a testimony to the power of ubuntu philosophy.

Why did you decide to speak at WordCamp Cape Town?

I have always wanted to give back to the WordPress community. The WordCamp Cape Town 2011 presents a golden opportunity for me to share my experience with using WordPress.

What is your talk going to be about?

My talk is going to focus on how one can maximise the use of WordPress for publishing multimedia without necessarily having to rely on plugins.

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Cape Town?

I look forward to networking with like-minded people.

What is the one thing you want people to walk away with from your talk?

WordPress is more powerful than many realise.

What is your favourite WordPress theme and/or plugin, and why?

Google XML Sitemaps (plugin). It is very useful for automatically submitting new page/post links to the leading search engines.

Share one WP tip

Always make use of trackbacks, where possible. The backlinks are worth the time.

Who in the WordPress community inspires you? Who do yo u follow?

Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net

What is the most exciting feature/addition/improvement to WordPress that you have noticed in the last year?

WordPress for BlackBerry

Where do you see WordPress 2 years from now?

It would overtake its immediate competition as the platform of choice for blogging and content management.

We are very happy to announce that Oluniyi D.
