With over 6,500 members, Freelancentral aims to bring freelancers and clients together, to the benefit of both.<\/p>\n
The site was founded by Jo Duxbury, who, after returning to Cape Town after nearly a decade working in marketing agencies in London, found it difficult to get freelance work herself without an established network. During a freelance stint at an ad agency, Jo realised that nearly every week the creative director would be looking for a freelancer. Jo spotted an opportunity to create an online platform to bring both parties together, and Freelancentral was born.<\/p>\n
Freelancentral\u2019s most popular categories are design, writing and new media and most clients are from agencies looking to outsource overflow work, or from smaller businesses who don\u2019t have creative talent in-house.<\/p>\n
