Tell us more about how you became interested in WordPress, what about it drives your continued interest?

I needed an “easy to learn, easy to use” platform to start a blog and WordPress was by far the most uncomplicated and functional system to use. I just liked WordPress right from the start.

Why did you decide to speak at WordCamp Cape Town?

Wordcamp conferences have a great reputation globally and I just couldn’t miss the opportunity.

What is your talk going to be about?

How to successfully plan and implement a strategy to generate an income from your website. It is a long road, but a well deserving one.

What is the one thing you want people to walk away with from your talk?

You can successfully generate an income from any website.

What is your favourite WordPress theme and/or plugin, and why?

I like the Genesis framework for WordPress and my favourite plugin is “WordPress SEO by Yoast

Can you share one WP tip with us?

If there is one tip I can give: Google loves WordPress!

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Cape Town 2012?

Meeting new people to learn from.

Do you make money from wordpress?

Yes, I do make money by using WordPress.

Is WordPress an effective platform for getting your message across?

For sure. When I look at simplicity, functionality and being end-user friendly, I will always use WordPress. 95% of affiliate marketers confirmed they use WordPress as their preferred CMS at a recent Affiliate Summit in the U.S.

What is the most common phrase you hear when speaking to people?

“Our website has not generated a single lead for us in 2 years”. 90% of websites are not meeting expectations simply because they have not been developed with a clear objective.
