The stadium cost R4.5 billion to build and 2 500 workers were employed during the process, while 1 200 artisans were trained. Cape Town Stadium is managed by the City of Cape Town’s Tourism, Events, Marketing and Strategic Assets Directorate.
Cape Town Stadium has hosted football legends such as Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry and Fernando Torres, as well as music legends U2, the Eagles, Coldplay, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The stadium has featured in numerous television commercials, as well as feature films such as Safe House, which stars Denzil Washington and Ryan Reynolds.
There is secure parking inside the venue that is included in your ticket price. Follow the signs through entrance P1A on Fritz Sonnenberg Road and head up to the foyer on Level 01.
