I’m the only Belgian in the WooCommerce team at Automattic. I lead one of the WooCommerce support teams. I’ve been working with WordPress for about 10 years, and mostly enjoy just breaking things in order to learn. In 2013, I moved to South Africa for the best reason in the book: love.

I’m an Automattican who puts the priorities life in this order: God, Family, WordPress, Star Wars. I’ve been a lover of WordPress since 3.0 — especially its extensibility. I’ve spoken about crafting plugins, the WordPress community, and how to get the most out of WordCamp. Though I’m a developer at heart, my passion is to work on programs that support the worldwide WordPress community. When I’m not answering questions in Slack or blogging about the latest news in WordPress, you can find me spending time with my wife and children, creating crossword puzzles, tweeting out a good pun, or adding appropriate GIFs to tweets.

I work on the Partners team at WooCommerce but have a background in Web Hosting. I first discovered WordPress in 2009 and have been tinkering ever since. I love Open Source and love how WordPress makes powerful technology available to ordinary people like me.

I just joined WordCamp2018 as Accessibility Wrangler. I work as Provincial Co-ordinator and Secretary of the Western Cape Network on Disability. I’m also a Trained Voice Artist, armchair Criminologist, and lover of good coffee.

For the past 11 years I have run NB Media, a print and website design agency based in Somerset West. I believe that your business design matters, so I help small businesses by creatively designing their logo, website, business cards, flyers, brochures, advertising, magazine, book, email newsletters and promotional material.

I’m a pretty well rounded web & software developer with experience in PHP, NodeJs, MYSQL, MongoDb and the rest of the stack, Javascript/Gulp, CSS/SASS, etc. In more recent years, loving ReactJs, GIT and Bash. I can slot in almost anywhere and rather quickly, versatility being one of my strengths. I have a massive passion for what I do and a never dwindling enthusiasm to learn, grow and push boundaries. WordPress has been my career incubator and I love giving back wherever possible. I run my own little business (really, mostly just me) focused on delivering clean and structured code with a commitment to client service. I might not, nor ever be the best but continuously strive towards it and I might not always have the answers but I do have unwavering confidence in my thinking and problem solving abilities to always get the job done and done well! Brevity is not one of my strengths lol…

During the day I work at a digital marketing start-up,  I spend the rest of my time working on my blogging and content creation skills as well as leading my Brownie (young Girl Guides) unit. I found my love for WordPress after building my first blog, then moved up to online stores and since then have been a die-hard fan of WP. I’m not very technical or code-savvy, but that’s why I love WordPress and WordCamp because you can still be a part of the community even if you’ve never seen a line of code in your life before.

I’m a freelance web developer who specialises in Javascript, PHP development, working on WordPress themes and plugins. After spending 3 years studying Information Technology in Nigeria, I relocated to South Africa in 2014. I’m a curious mind and I enjoy work that challenges me to gain knowledge and expand my skills. I’m also trying to invest in the youth by introducing them to web development in order to diversify the field. I prefer Tabs to Spaces.

Mostly specialise in WordPress Custom builds, but not restricted to WordPress. I’m a 20-something community manager & self-made IT entrepreneur who lives, works, & plays in Cape Town, South Africa. I’m a lover of parrots, cars, food, wine, whisky, coffee, sunsets, music, movies, traveling, WordPress & entrepreneurship.

I’m an open source advocate who believes in sustainable business building by equipping my clients with tools that work for their business goals. As a lifelong learner, I’m always finding new projects and skills to refine. I have spoken about several topics at WordCamps, Meetups, and in podcasting including how to contribute to open source and understanding the GPL. I’m also one of co-organisers of the WordPress Cape Town Meetup, work on the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin, and am an expert at Codeable. When I’m not performing code reviews, you can find me spending time with my children, training Gracie Jiu Jitsu, and mentoring others in the WordPress community.
