JOIN OUR TEAM: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WORDCAMP CAPE TOWN 2024!

Are you passionate about WordPress and eager to contribute to the community? Do you enjoy making events memorable and fun for everyone? We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help make WordCamp Cape Town 2024 an extraordinary experience!

As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in the success of the event. You’ll collaborate with the organizing team, assist with various tasks, and ensure everything runs smoothly. Plus, you’ll get to meet new people, learn new skills, and have a fantastic time!

Volunteer Roles We’re Looking to Fill:

• Videographers/Photographers: Capture the sessions on camera. If you have your own equipment and some experience, that’s a bonus! Plus, you get to watch the sessions as you film.
• Registration Desk: Welcome attendees, check them in, and hand out nametags. Organizational skills are a plus.
• Green Room Guards: Ensure a secure space for speakers and volunteers to store their belongings. Shifts of an hour or two.
• Emcees: Introduce speakers and sessions, keep the schedule on track, and make announcements. A knack for keeping things brief and entertaining is important.
• Runners: Work with emcees, video operators, speakers, and other staff to keep everything running smoothly. Ensure speakers have water and provide general support. Handle unexpected tasks and assist wherever needed. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are key.
• Parking Ushers: Help guide cars and manage the parking area to ensure everyone finds a spot easily. Be the first smiling face attendees see!
• Miscellaneous Prep: Assist with various tasks that don’t fall into specific categories but are crucial for the event’s success.

As a volunteer, you’ll receive a free ticket to attend both days of WordCamp Cape Town (including swag) and the after-party. You’ll also be invited to the volunteer dinner held before the event.
