PayFast: Why we sponsor WordCamp Cape Town

This year PayFast is celebrating 10 years of perfect pairs. While we’ve partnered with some inspiring merchants, we’ve also partnered with amazing communities over the years. One of these being the WordPress community in South Africa. PayFast has been a sponsor for WordPress events since 2013/2014 and a highlight on our calendar every year is WordCamp.

Wordcamp offers the opportunity for anyone using WordPress to come together for two days to share knowledge, engage in workshops and listen to some amazing talks. It’s a seriously inspiring two days and being a part of it has been nothing short of incredible.

In 2011 PayFast launched it’s plugin to WooCommerce (a shopping cart platform for WordPress) and in 2013 the plugin became free and has remained so to this day. This partnership was the beginning of PayFast supporting WordPress events like WordCamp. We haven’t looked back since.

WordCamp is a great opportunity for us to connect and meet like minded people, and we love hearing about the ways people are using technology on a daily basis. We also get to meet some of our clients face to face which is by far the most rewarding aspect for us. By making a personal connection, we can form stronger relationships and collaborations going forward.

Sponsoring an event like this, where we’ve seen it grow year by year and connected with so many individuals, has caused PayFast to become synonymous with WordCamp and has helped us grow our own following and community. It’s like being part a of a big family that keeps getting bigger and better!

With just over a month to go to WordCamp Cape Town on the 26th and 27th of October why not see for yourself and get tickets here.
